"For a New America"
Affordable Care Act
The American Care Act, or Obamacare, is a great idea in principle, but the way that health care is distributed could be better. Obamacare provides low-cost health insurance by taxing wealthy individuals and the health care companies themselves. As a result, CNBC finds that Obamacare plans are becoming more restrictive in the number of health providers they will cover, even as they increase out-of-pocket charges to an average of nearly $4,000 for the most common type of plans. Therefore, in order to increase the effectiveness of health care, two things must be accomplished: lowering costs and increasing the range of plans. I believe that the best solution is an entirely new approach. Instead of providing healthcare directly from the government, the solution is to provide subsidies to the healthcare companies directly. This solves both of these problems. By providing subsidies to health care companies, that means that more options and customizable policies are available, as opposed to the status quo that cuts out certain health care providers and care options along with them. In addition, by giving subsidies directly to the companies, that allows each individual care option to be cheaper for people, and allows the overall cost for people to stay low. This is a comprehensive solution to the problems of the Affordable Care Act.
